Sat 26th September 2021. Club race report Hlyn Manton
It’s been a long time since I have written one of these and due to old age/pulling hamstring during a fitness class (teaches me to go to stretch classes!), one I almost did not start. Glad I did, perfect day for running (ok a little still and warm) and the usual great organisation and marshalling from BVH. Great to see so many club shirts. 23 NRR today. Some cracking performances. A couple to note, Amy Beck (first female runner home)who I think has beaten her own club 10-mile record, running today with John Hudson. Also, Will Buck who has taken Martin Yeomans off the 60+ 10 miler. If both could confirm then David Field will update club records.
Many thanks to Danielle Crane for organise a few of us to get into a photo. This is not my best report and with races now every week for the next few weeks, please feel free to write a race report and we will post it.
The race set out from the picturesque town centre on a nice day for running. Well done to the race organisers for picking a decent day considering all the rubbish weather we have been having!
Norwich Road Runners had good representation amongst the 240 runners that finished.
Congratulations go to John Hudson on his second place as well as Will Buck who broke the club record 20 mile record in his age group with a time of 2:48:47. Alicia Lacey was first in her age group in an impressive time of 2:17:21
