For many, this was the first time racing at an official chip timed event for over a year.
The feeling around the inside of the circuit was very much one of showing that events can and will be back for this year - it was definitely nice to be back in a race atmosphere, catching up with faces from our own club but also from others too.
Differences are naturally in place and for some of us the start procedure isn’t quite the same, almost just turning up at the line to be told ‘right off you go in your own time..!’ Not quite the buzz of waiting for the starters orders. Still a race is better than none so kudos to the organisers for getting it done.
Naturally at an open race circuit you are never far from windy conditions and Snetterton didn’t disappoint..!! Parts of the track knocked you back sometimes making it tricky to manage pace at times.
The race results link is included but not yet updated, presumably to arrange the finishing order - the other slight downside to the waved starts not knowing who might have actually won until much later.
Still hope yet for a race season this year
